Large example! From northern Italy, early Villanovan (pre-Etruscan), ca. 8th to 7th century BC. Constructed of hand-hammered bronze; at some point in its ancient life, bowl was repaired with the addition of another plate of bronze which was riveted in place. Rivets remaining are indications that vessel once had handles to each side. Large piece measuring 11-1/2"D.

Provenance: Ex-private San Diego, CA Collection.
