A Victorian vinaigrette of elongated oval form with serpentine scrolling border, the top decorated with a fishing vessel, harbour and coastal scene, opening to the interior foliate engraved pierced grille, the base with central cartouche and line engraved decoration, Birmingham mark 1846, makers mark for Nathaniel Mills (see illustration).
