Ecuador, Phase 3, Ca. 2300-2000 BC. Burnished red and brown clay upper portion of a mother goddess figure with finely incised hair, facial details and molded with nice large chest. 3" + custom mount. Fragmentary, but excellent quality! This little fragment of a figurine is from the culture from which the earliest representations of pottery figurines have thus far been found in the new world.
