A well-made suit, highly decorated. Handwrought of steel, the helmet with separate visor and bevor, with roped borders throughout, arm and leg assemblies with spring-closures, gauntlets with all fingers intact, the limbs well-proportioned and modeled. Covered with etched flowering vine motifs, the whole gilt lacquered. Wooden stand included. Late 19th century. Areas of wear to gilding, rust to one lower leg and backplate, breastplate seam slightly open at lower edge, fingers releathered, pauldrons supported on brass studs.
