A TOTEM “BERKSWELL & BALSALL COMMON”. BR(M) maroon, fully-flanged. A central 1” chip and very minor flange chipping otherwise very good. An ex LNWR station, between Coventry and Birmingham, opened as “Docker’s Lane” in 1838; renamed “Berkswell” in 1853; “Berkswell and Balsall Common” in 1928; “Berkswell” by BR. THIS TOTEM HAS ONLY EVER APPEARED ONCE IN AUCTION, IN 1978 WHEN IT MADE £12!
