Part of a 209 piece collection of ancient pottery featured in the book, "The Farwell Collection" published in 1953 by Franklin P. Johnson, University of Chicago art historian and archaeologist.


From ancient Southern Italy, dating to the 5th century BC, this terracotta vessel is finished in a deep, brick-red glaze. Original excavation label still attached! 2-1/2"H. Intact/generally excellent condition, save minor rim chip. Overall surface root markings!
