A Sino-Tibetan Gilt-Bronze Figure of Manjushri, Finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, brandishing a sword in his raised right hand and holding in his left hand the stem of a lotus flower supporting the book of knowledge, wearing a waist-tied dhoti, beaded necklaces, armlets, and anklets, the hair worn in long trailing tresses and pulled into a tall double topknot behind a five-point crown, the face with serene expression flanked by pendent earrings. This condition report states major condition issues only.] Note:Manjushri - which literally means 'Gentle Glory' - is a one of the bodhisattva, who is the Shakyamuni's representative in Mahayana literature. He is known as the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, who has transformed himself here on earth into a young prince. He holds a flaming double-edge sword in his right hand for the purpose of cutting through the vei lof ignorance and delusion. Simultaneously, he holds a lotus stem in his left hand, which blossoms into the Prajnaparamita Sutra, one of the most important of the Perfection of Wisdom texts and the Mother of all Buddhas.
