<B>General George Armstrong Custer: A Signed Copy of <I>Custer's Indian Battles </B></I></B></I><B>by Colonel Charles Francis Bates, United States Army (retired). </B></I>(Bronxville, New York: Privately printed by the author, 1936 ). First edition. Signed by the author on the first page and dated by him 8/25/36. Quarto (9” x 12”). 36 pp. Illustrated with photographs, including a large official portrait of Custer, and with a frontispiece map of the Little Bighorn. In the original printed and illustrated wrappers, with a drawing of Custer on horseback and with sword drawn from a sketch by James E. Kelly. Wrappers a bit soiled and chipped, with small pieces missing from the bottom corners of the front wrapper. Small and faint stain to the fore-edge margin, well away from any text or pictures.
