Made of cotton in a navy blue and white gingham pattern, long sleeves, one breast pocket, tuck-in tab on placket, Western Costume Co. label reads "No. 2354-3 / John Wayne #1 / Chest 46," further WCC stamp on inside shirt tail, red paper Paramount drycleaning tag stapled to hem; first worn as Wayne portrayed "Ranger Captain Jake Cutter," then worn as "George Washington McLintock" in the chess scene with Chill Wills [as "Drago"] and Patrick Wayne [as "Devlin Warren"] (with the suit from Lot 44234) and then worn as "Cole Thornton" when he says goodbye to Charlene Holt [as "Maudie"] after his gun shot wound is healed.
