A Scottish pewter measure and a pewter tea caddy, both circa 1800, the pear shaped measure with two bands of turning and front spout and embryo shell thumbpiece, lacking lid, 8ins, the oval classical two division tea caddy and cover with urn finial by Samuel Cocks, 6ins Scottish measures of this type are uncommon. For a similar measure with its cover see the Sandy Law sale, Phillips of Chester, 25th September 1997, lot 203. This measure was engraved 'MORE MARJORAM' and is illustrated in Peter Hornsby's 'Pewter of the Western World' fig 822. £100-150
