A SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE "61948". As carried by the LNER Class K3/6 2-6-0, LNER 2447, built by the North British Locomotive Company's Hyde Park Works as Works No. 24234, emerging to traffic on 18th September 1935. It became LNER 1948 on 8th December 1946; BR 61948 on 1st May 1948. A longtime March engine, it was withdrawn on 28th March 1962 from there and cut up at Doncaster in April. The plate is face-repainted only.
