A SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE "42570". As carried by the ex LMS Class 4P (later Class 4) 2-6-4T, LMS 2570, built by the North British Locomotive's Hyde Park Works as Works No. 24326 in 1936. A Stanier design, it became BR 42570 and was latterly shedded at Edge Hill, Macclesfield and Stockport from where it was withdrawn in October 1961 to be cut up by the Central Wagon Company at Ince, Wigan by November 1962. The plate is face-repainted only.
