A SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “42567”. As carried by the ex LMS Class 4P (later Class 4) 2-6-4T, LMS 2567, built by the North British Locomotive’s Hyde Park Works as Works No. 24323 in 1936. A Stanier 2 cylinder design first introduced in 1935. 2567 became BR 42567, was latterly shedded at Stoke, Bangor and Patricroft and was finally withdrawn in March 1965 to be cut up by T W Ward Ltd of Beighton, Sheffield. The plate is unrestored.
