<B>A SIOUX PICTORIAL BEADED HIDE BLANKET STRIP<BR></B></I><BR>c. 1890<BR> <BR>sinew sewn and lane-stitched in various shades of glass seed beads, the four rosettes alternating with rectangular panels, each enclosing a pair of American flags <BR><I><BR>Length: 63 inches<BR></B></I><BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> In overall good to very good condition. Hide with moderate wear including moderate soiling. Approx. six holes in hide at end. Beadwork with some loss, including a slight loss of red in rosette, a green section of approx. 1/4" x 1/4", an approx. 1” wide row of green, an approx. 7/8” loss of white, an approx. 1/4" row of white, two approx. 3/4" row of green, an approx. 3/8” vertical row of white, and an approx. 1/2" row of white. Some beadwork rows are loose. There are two holes at the center of each rosette, indicating a possible loss of ornamentation.
