<B>A SIOUX BEADED HIDE SADDLE BLANKET<BR></B></I><BR>c. 1885<BR> <BR>sinew sewn and lane-stitched in classic bead colors, with beaded panels enclosing alternating geometric designs, trimmed with hide fringe and hawk bells <BR><BR>Provenance:<BR>Collected by Senator Thomas Hornby of Valentine, NB, who operated a trading post on the Rosedbud Reservation in the late 1800s.<BR><I><BR>Length: 64 inches overall<BR></B></I> <B>Condition Report:</B> Overall good condition. Hide with usual wear and soiling and approx. 57 small (1/8" dia.) holes. Approx. 3 areas of native repair. Beadwork with miinor loss. Hide fringe intact.
