<B>A SIOUX BEADED HIDE RATTLE<BR></B></I><BR>c. 1890<BR> composed of a cylindrical aluminum can wrapped with hide and decorated with sinew sewn and lane-stitched beadwork in various shades of glass seed beads, mounted on a wood handle with coiled beadwork and quillwork, a triangular tab pendant suspended from the base, trimmed with beadwork, hide fringe and metal cones inserted with horsehair <BR><I>Length: 40 inches overall<BR></B></I><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> Overall very good with usual wear and soiling. Beadwork intact. Quillwork with some loss. Approx. 5 metal cones missing. Silk ribbons faded and frayed. Hide fringe with approx. 2 torn short.
