<B>A SIOUX BEADED HIDE KNIFE SHEATH<BR><BR></B></I>c. 1870 <BR>sinew sewn and lane-stitched in classic bead colors, decorated on the front with small geometric motifs, trimmed with metal cones inserted with yellow-dyed horsehair, with tag attached on the reverse, inscribed <I>Indian Chief Sitting Bull gave these, knife sheath, and money bag to Major C. Howell at Rose Bud agency</B></I> ...; together with a Sioux beaded leather strike-a-light pouch, sinew sewn and lane-stitched in various shades of glass seed beads, with typical geometric motifs; and a photograph of Sitting Bull by O. S. Goff, among other ephemera, mounted and framed <BR><I><BR>Lengths: sheath, 10 1/4 inches; pouch, 4 1/2 inches</B></I> <B>Condition Report:</B> Framed and under glass.
