Worn by the Highland Regiments, the regulation nickeled baskethilt retaining its liner and tassel, the leather-covered grip with twisted copper wire wrap intact. The straight, double-edged blade bifullered and set with a brass disk marked PROVED in a six-pointed star at the right forte, both sides elaborately etched with vinework panels and the VR cypher of Queen Victoria (r. 1837-1901.) In its nickeled steel scabbard. Late 19th-early 20th century. Minor wear to scabbard. Overall length 103 cm.
