A SCARCE DIVISION ONE UNDER GLASS BUTTON
1 Large 18th century sepia architectural scene example. Buttons from the 18th century with interior designs are much less common than those of the exteriors. This example in sepia tones set under glass depicts "BAINES de JULIEN" as it is written on the depiction on the upper part. "Les Bains de Julien, Paris, used as a warehouse by a wine merchant : workmen are cleaning and repairing wine barrels". This is a very unusual and wonderful example of the 18th century and would add nicely to any collection. This button is pictured in the book "A Button Odyssey" by our French friend Loic Allio, on page 88. A great and wonderful example of 18th century artistry.
