A Roman bronze simpulum, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, the shallow cup nicely turned with parallel ridges with incised grooves around the outside, a flared ring foot on base. The handle is tall and shapely with two groups of spikes on each side, the top ovoid with convex face. H: 3 4/5 in (9.7cm). Intact and well-preserved with a light green patina.
