Rome, Ca. 30 BC - 250 AD. Ancient kitchenware! The strainer's handle terminates with a goose's head, very similar to one found in the Royal Ontario Museum of Archaeology, while the bronze tripod's feet are anthropomorphized hooves. From a Roman's kitchen to yours. When placed together they measure 9-1/2"L x 3-1/2"H. The rim and handle of the strainer survived, but the thin perforated bronze sheet forming the strainer itself corroded away, else both pieces excellent with beautiful patina.

Provenance: Ex- Prominent New York City Gallery.
