A Rhodesia Railways oval brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE "257". As carried by the 12th Class 3'6" gauge 4-8-2 built by the North British Locomotive Company's Hyde Park Works as Works No. 24006 in December 1930. It went to the National Railways of Zimbabwe as 257 in April 1980. A universal mixed traffic design of greater power than previous types, it was scrapped in July 1980. Four of these locomotives are preserved. The plate is 19"x12 3/4", in ex-loco condition.
