<B>A Regency Burl Walnut and Brass Lap Desk</B></I><BR><BR>Unknown maker, England<BR>Circa 1800-1820<BR>Burl walnut, rosewood, ebonized wood, brass<BR>Unmarked<BR>7 in. high x 20 in wide x 10.25 in. deep (closed)<BR><BR>With burl walnut ground, the top and front with ebonized border with incurving corners, with band of rosewood between brass stringing, edges with brass mounts and stylized fleur-de-lis at corners, the top with inlaid brass cartouche reserve, the front with cartouche shaped brass inlaid escutcheon; the interior with black gilt edged leather inset to writing surface, three hidden drawers, pen holder, and two covered containers with ivory pulls.<BR>1 <BR><BR><B>Condition Report:</B> Normal signs of wear as appropriate with age. One interior cover missing.
