<B>Receipt for a Slave Named George - Dated November 24, 1853.</B></I> This receipt is made out to a "W. W. Westin ? " for the purchase of a twelve year-old boy named George. Sold by V. L. Witt to Westin for $925, Vitt warrants that George is of “sound and healthy boddy sic and mind”. Vitt also warrants “the wright sic and title to the said boy”. The handwritten document measures 6½” x 4½” and is in very good condition with some fold marks.
