1 Large 18th century under glass example with a snake. Here is an absolutely gorgeous example of 18th century craftsmanship. The button comes from a complete set of 6, (set shown in original box), but you are bidding on one from the set, the image of the boxed set is for you to see the entire set. The initials in the center are beautifully engraved and highly detailed. The initials are bordered by a beautifully punched design noticeabe from the back as well. The buttons are not round but scalloped on the edge. The silver is a silver wash with a copper hue depending on the light you view them in. As seen in the back image the silver wash is intact as it is on the front. Again a gorgeous example. NOTE: You are bidding on ONE button from the set but we have included an image pf the origonal boxed set. From the collection of the late Dorothy Peterson of Virginia and a member of the Martha Washington Button Club.
