A Rare Chinese Export Porcelain Dish, With rounded side flaring widely to a slightly everted rim, the interior painted in enamel with various birds and flowers below further flowering branches in the cavetto, the reverse painted in the same manner. Circa 1775, Diameter: 10 7/8 inches (27.7 cm) Provenance:Acquired in Los Angeles in the 1950's. [Minor losses to the enamel. This condition report states major condition issues only.] Note: It is very rare to find a Chinese export dish such as this one because it was made for the Persian market in the late 18th century. The Persian market favored flowers and birds in the gardens, and the royal blue border indicates that it belonged to a special person. It is the same period when much of the export porcelains with pink flowers and crests were sent to Europe.
