State Porcelain Factory, Petrograd (formerly Imperial Porcelain Factory), after a model by Natalia Danko, circa 1920s.This rare porcelain figure depicts Dmitry Stelletski (1875–1947), the celebrated Russian painter and stage designer known for his work in the neo-Russian style and association with the Ballets Russes. Seated cross-legged, his body is wrapped in a dramatic striped and patterned robe in tones of ochre, black, and cream with pink and gilt accents. His head is tilted backward with stylized, sculpted hair, capturing a contemplative or visionary pose. The figure is characteristic of Natalia Danko’s expressive sculptural portraits, produced at the State Porcelain Factory during the early Soviet period. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold "as-is", refer to our T&C.Helios Auctions does not ship in-house.
