A porcelain figure titled Ballerina (After Anna Pavlova as the Dying Swan) by Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (formerly Imperial Porcelain Factory), Leningrad. Modeled after the original by Natalya Danko (1892–1942), ca. 1930s. A seated ballerina is posed in a languid, stylized position, her head tilted back. She wears a feathered white costume with black detailing and ballet slippers with painted ribbons.Glazed porcelain, hand-painted, marked underglaze green Soviet hammer and sickle, used by the Lomonosov Factory, St. Petersburg (then Leningrad), post-1925Art Deco influence; the costume and bobbed hairstyle reflect 1920s–30s aesthetics, commonly associated with Pavlova’s "Dying Swan" role. This piece belongs to a celebrated group of Soviet-era ballerina figures modeled at the Lomonosov (Imperial) Porcelain Factory. These figures were inspired by famous Russian ballerinas, especially Anna Pavlova, and modeled in part by Natalya Danko, one of the most important sculptors working at the factory.
