JOHN<BR><BR>The egg with stand of the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, St. Petersburg, gilded with the Imperial monogram of Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Nicholas II, the late Czar of Russia, made in the Russian Imperial Factory at St. Petersburg, on the order of the Czarina, Easter, 1935. Provenance: from the Schaffer Collection of Russian Imperial Art Treasures, Rockefeller Center, NYC, property of Mrs. H. W. Hoover, with COA from Hammer Galleries, 2-1/2"h. The icon, depicting St. John the Beloved Disciple, Russian workmanship, c. 1830, mounted in red velvet, wrought silver frame with bowknot at top, hallmarked IS, 84, provenance, part of a Bishop`s mitre, from the Imperial Chapel, of the Feodorovski Cathedral Tsarskoye Selo, with COA from Hammer Galleries, 1937, 2" x 1-1/4", together with a Russian lacquer box from Palekh, provenance, gift to Polly Hoover Connelly, c. 1960`s, with letter describing object. 4 pieces
