With faceted one-piece pale jade grip set with a turquoise in a gilded setting, the steel bolster elaborately inlaid in gold with rumi vinework. The straight, single-edged blade with raised backedge wrought of actively-grained Persian wootz and lavishly inlaid in gold rumi vines, together with a lengthy Kufic inscription on the right side and a cartouche containing the salutation, MASH? ALLAH (God?s Blessing) on the left. In its silver scabbard with filigreed locket, embossed and engraved in vinework motifs with geometrical borders, and set with a fluted bud finial. Likely made in the Imperial Court Workshops.Early 19th century. Light wear to scabbard. Overall length 39 cm.
