A QUEEN ANNE WALNUT VENEERED DRESSING TABLE
New England, early 18th c.
The quarter-veneered rectangular top above one long drawer with fitted interior and three short drawers, shaped apron below with pendant finials on cabriole legs ending in chamfered feet. Back bears inscribed name of S. B. Warner (?) and printed celluloid label of B. Altman & Co., New York. Refinished, veneer repairs, replaced brasses.
H: 29 3/4, w: 32 1/2, d: 21 3/4 in.
PROVENANCE:
The table was purchased by Elsa and Gus Lindenmeyr from B. Altman in the 1930s to furnish their New York apartment. It descended in the Lindenmeyr family to the present owner.
