From the Ulua Valley of Honduras, circa 600 A.D. – 900 A.D. This vessel measures approximately 5-1/2"W x 5-1/4" tall, and features an elegant lobed shape around the center, sitting atop a circular pedestal foot. It features stylized iconography overall, typical for Ulua Valley vessels. There are two central panels showing an elaborately adorned individual wearing a large headdress, separated by two black square panels, perhaps representing obsidian mirrors- symbolic as portals to the Underworld. Exceptional condition, with mineral deposits overall and heavy black Manganese blooms inside attesting to the age and authenticity of this piece.

Provenance: Former private Florida, USA collection.
