(Universal, 1925) An original production design concept for the Lon Chaney horror classic “The Phantom of the Opera,” by artist Ben Carre. During the development of the stage musical in the 1980s, this art was loaned to Andrew Lloyd Webber as a reference for set design. Measuring 8” x 11” in an 11.5” x 16” matte, the graphite and colored pencil art on vellum displays in very good condition with creases and wear from production use. The matte is in fair condition with edge tears, spotting, and discoloration from age.
