Artist's Note

"This piece is based on the cult architecture book by the same name which centers on the concept that a building is a language comprised of many patterns. It is the combination of these individual patterns that make up a style or a theme. This applies to my work too. Multi axis, geometric forms, smooth transitions, green oak, sandblasting. Those are patterns found throughout my work. This piece was turned from green oak on two axes, before being carved and sandblasted. The main body has a base, it is not a through tube."

About Max Brosi
Born in Germany in 1981, Brosi now lives and works in the North West of Ireland. After training as a furniture designer, his work expanded to boat building and hollow wooden surfboard construction.

Brosi specializes in multi axis sculptural forms, turned, carved, and sandblasted from green oak, often in combination with rusty steel elements. His work focuses on the tension between geometric forms and the natural distortion of green wood as it dries.

His work has been shown by Del Mano and by the AAW in the USA and in various galleries and shows in Ireland and Germany.
