A Paris "Rue de Montmartre" plate attractively painted in colours with a Brazilian tree-creeper perched on a branch, growing from a rock, inscribed Grimpeau du Bresil, the blue rim decorated with shaped and gilt edged panels including vines and bowls in sepia, 9.25ins. "hulley" in iron-red, incised repairer's mark, early 19th century, minor rubbing. Provenance Sotheby's 24th February 1981 - Lot 136 £250-300
