A Pair of Pants from The Comancheros. ... (Total: 1 )
A Pair of Pants from "The Comancheros." 20th Century Fox, 1961. Made of light weight beige cotton, flat front, two front pockets, two back pockets, belt loops, Western Costume Co. label reads "No. 2399-5 / John Wayne / Waist 38 1/2 / Inseam 33," further WCC stamp on inside waistband, altered for a later use; worn by Wayne in the film. (Please note these pants have a few holes and show signs of wear.)This style of pants, like the stockade jackets, were part of Wayne's standard western costume for the remainder of his career. First seen in the 1959 release, "Rio Bravo," he had them made in cotton, wool, and a stretch fabric that Pilar Wayne introduced to him in the 1960s -- it was the same material as her ski pants and Wayne liked how it "gave" when worn. The pants were always made in the same general shades of tan, khaki, or beige.
