Private Cover (2), King George VI, 1946, Set of 3V stamps of King George VI – 9 Pies, 1 ½ Annas & 3 ½ Annas, A beautiful pair of colourful private Souvenir First Day Covers, issued in “COMMEMORATION OF VICTORY 1945” with a map of undivided India surrounded with “V” signifying Victory. Beautifully printed with multi-colour printing, excellent condition, Very Rare.



1 ½ Annas & 3 ½ Annas stamps of George VI tied. The cover was issued on “2nd January 1946” is dispatched from Bombay with a round dispatch cancellation seal “BOMBAY G.P.O. | REG. | 2 JAN 46 | 5 – P.M.” and is addressed to “Mrs. Naegamvala | c/o Dr. P K. Naegamvala | 321, Main Street | POONA”, along with a Registered rectangle label as “R C 173 | BOMBAY, G.P.O.” and a delivery seal as “?? | REG | 3 JAN 46 | 10 – A.M.” on the back with the letter is intact within.


9 Pies stamp of George VI tied. The cover was issued on “8th February 1946” and has “Book Post” in hand endorsed & sent to “MOHAMADALI JAFARALI | 46 CHURCHGATE STREET | FORT BOMBAY” with round dispatch cancellation seal as “BOMBAY R.M.S. | 9 FEB. 46 | 1 – A.M.”, and back side of the cover has rectangular delivery seal as “BOMBAY-1 | DELIVERY | 9 FEB 1946 | 8-AM”.
