A fine hand-painted porcelain cabinet plate depicting Napoleon Bonaparte, produced by the firm of Richard Klemm in Dresden, Germany, in the latter half of the 19th century. The central reserve shows a finely painted bust-length portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte in military uniform, rendered with exceptional detail and vivid coloration. Surrounding the portrait is a wide border richly decorated with raised gilding, scrolling foliate designs, and stylized cartouches on a cobalt blue and white ground, with burgundy accents. This type of plate was highly popular among late 19th-century European porcelain manufacturers, often emulating Royal Vienna styles and featuring historical or courtly portraits. Intended as decorative cabinets or display pieces, they reflect the fascination with Napoleon and French Empire themes during the Belle Époque. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold "as-is", refer to our T&C.Helios Auctions does not ship in-house. D: 6 1/8 in., (15.5 cm.)

No visible cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The rim looks intact without chips or flakes. The central portrait of Napoleon is crisp, finely detailed, and retains excellent color vibrancy. The elaborate border, featuring a combination of raised gilt, blue, white, and burgundy enamel, is largely intact. The enamel work appears complete, with no obvious losses.
