Visayan work, the characteristic grip and guard carved entirely of horn, the pommel terminating in a fanged demon's head embellished with silver. The robust, handforged blade expanding continuously to the tip, with chamfered cutting edge. In its wooden scabbard, the tooled leather locket with applied silver device in the form of a triangle with eight-rayed sun and stars, adopted by the Philippine state under Aguinaldo in 1889.
