A PAIR OF VIENNA BRONZE FIGURES OF PHEASANTS, CA. 1900
A finely cast and detailed pair of bronze pheasants, captured in dynamic, animated poses: one pheasant (likely the male) stands with its tail dramatically raised and beak open in mid-call. The second (likely the female) crouches with wings lifted in a defensive or mating pose, beak slightly parted. The craftsmanship is consistent with the Vienna Bronze school, known for its superb small-scale representations of animals, often highly realistic and richly detailed. The fine chasing on the feathers and expressive postures demonstrate the artisan's skill. While this pair is not cold-painted in polychrome, they retain a rich golden-brown patina with subtle gilded highlights, which was also typical for certain naturalistic bronzes of the period.Vienna, Austria, late 19th to early 20th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold "as-is", refer to our T&C.Helios Auctions does not ship in-house.
