<B>A PAIR OF SIOUX QUILLED AND BEADED HIDE MOCCASINS<BR></B></I><BR>c. 1890<BR> <BR>each decorated on the vamp with red-dyed porcupine quillwork, a band of sinew sewn and lane-stitched beadwork in various shades of glass seed beads encircling the foot, and beaded tongue with metal cones inserted with dyed-yellow horsehair, rawhide soles<BR><I><BR>Lengths: 10 inches each<BR><BR></B></I><BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> In overall good condition. Hide with moderate wear and soiling. Soles reflect moderate wear with some cracking. Foot band of beadwork ornamentation intact and secure, as well as beaded tongue designs and their green beaded perimeter. Yellow horsehair with metal cones all extant. Strong quill color with some loss and abrasion.
