<B>A PAIR OF SIOUX BEADED HIDE CEREMONIAL MOCCASINS<BR></B></I><BR>c. 1885<BR> <BR>each fully beaded with geometric designs in various shades of glass seed beads against a white beaded ground, bifurcated beaded tongues trimmed with metal cones, rawhide soles<BR><I><BR>Lengths: 10 ½ inches each<BR></B></I><BR><BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> In overall good to very good condition. Hide with moderate wear, including moderate soiling and some stiffness. One tongue has a rust-colored pinhole on top and small rust spots underneath. Small spots of rust on tie of one moccasin. The other tongue has blue pigment underneath and a small pinhole on top. Each moccasin has rust-colored nail-hole (?) near back heel. All-over beadwork extant and in excellent condition. Metal cone tassels extant but loss of most of purple chicken feathers.
