A VERY RARE PAIR OF ANCIENT ISLAMIC SELJUK NIELLO AND PARCEL-GILT SILVER BRACELETS Central Asia or Persia,
Circa 11th/12th Century.of cylindrical section, composed of a piece of silver sheet fastening, decorated with a large roundel
containing a palmette interlace, and two further half roundels containing the same design, with Both Sides registers of kufic
inscription. FOOTNOTESThe inscription consists of benedictory words in both cursive and kufic.each of Armlets decorated in niello
to the centres with cartouches containing quadrupeds surrounded by knot motif, near the claps with cartouches containing an
interlace of palmettes and other foliate motifs, the sides with niello inscriptions in floreated kufic FOOTNOTESInscriptions:

style to those on a silver niello flask in The State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg (see Linda Komaroff, Gifts of the Sultan, New
