<B>A PAIR OF CHEYENNE WOMAN’S BEADED HIDE LEGGINGS</B></I><BR><BR>c. 1890<BR> <BR>painted overall with yellow ochre pigment, sinew sewn and lane-stitched in numerous shades of opaque and translucent beads, with a pattern of stepped triangles, stepped diamonds, and small crosses <BR><I><BR>Lengths: 16 ½ inches each<BR></B></I> <B>Condition Report:</B> In overall good to very good condition. Hide with usual wear, including some moderate soiling and loss of yellow ochre pigment. Each legging has two small pinholes near bottom near rim. One legging has an approx. 1/4" gap in side seam and same legging has an approx. 3/4" horizontal (ink?) mark and an approx. 3/8” diagonal (ink?) mark. Beading with some soiling and very slight loss of pink beads in bottom rim of one legging.
