A PAIR OF ARGENTINIAN SILVER, GOLD AND LAPIS LAZULI GOBLETS, by Juan C. Pallarols, 20th century. The bowl with vermeil interior, the stem with a lapis lazuli knop and the foot mounted with a gold grape cluster - 20 oz. gross; 6 5/8 in. high. Juan Pallarols is a seventh generation silversmith whose ancestors were master silversmiths in eighteenth century Spain and emmigrated to Argentina in the early 1800's. He uses traditional techniques and tools in his workshop which has remained much the same over 200 years. Pallarols silver is in the private collections of European royalty, heads of state, such as Nelson Mandela and Francois Mitterand, popes, major corporations and celebrities, such as Placido Domingo and Elton John.
