A North Italian oval frame, 1740-1760, carved and gilded, foliate course on slanting sight moulding, course of flowerheads and leaves, deep concave moulding, laurel leaf course to outer edge, lateral central and bottom ornaments covered with pierced sprays and foliage, the cresting with fan-shaped pierced scrolling acanthus leaves and palmettes, old mirror glass, minor traces of wear, original gilding, one spray missing, 88.8 x 82 cm (137 x 97.5 cm), (GL).
