(Euro Disneyland, 1992-93) An untrimmed original attraction poster for Discovery Mountain, an attraction that never came to be. The decision to rename the scaled-down Discovery Mountain as Space Mountain was finalized on August 3, 1994 - less than a year before the attraction’s June 1, 1995, opening. By that time, Imagineer Tim Delaney had already designed a full attraction poster for Discovery Mountain, illustrating the roller coaster trip from the Earth to the Moon in turn-of-the-19th-century poster style, utilizing 30 different colors, including gold and copper metallic tones. The poster was updated with the Space Mountain name for use in the Park, but we can think of no other example of a finished poster with an attraction name that wasn’t used. Measuring 33" x 47", the poster is in good condition with creases throughout, and edge wear that does not affect the image.
