Pre-Columbian, Ixtlan del Rio style, Ca 300 BC to 200 AD. Terracotta figure of a male standing tall, sensitively yet abstractly molded with ear clips, arm bands, necklace, nose ring, and loin cloth and the he is holding an offering cup in one hand; his lips pursed in the positing of a mourner. Overall painted cream slip designs. 17-3/4"H (45 cm) + custom mount. Wear and losses to surface; shoulder repaired, body repair and finger restored. This is a rarely depicted and little know ritual found only in Pre-Hispanic West Mexico.
