<B>A French Napoleon III Porcelain Mounted Center Table</B></I><BR><BR>Unknown maker, Paris, France<BR>Circa 1870<BR>Ebonized wood, gilt and patinated bronze, porcelain with polychrome enamel and gilt decoration<BR>Unmarked<BR>31.25 inches high x 32 inches diameter<BR><BR>Of ebonized wood, the top inset with a Sevres-style porcelain plate depicting Napoleon astride his horse on the battlefield, within circular gilt bronze leaf surround, with an additional four oval porcelain plaques depicting scenes from the life of Napoleon within beaded ribbon hung and floral bordered frames, separated by gilt outlined spandrels, the entire top with gilt bronze border and framed intertwined floral banded rim; on baluster form support with acanthus leaves set on tripod feet with beaded banding, acanthus sabots, patinated bronze cherubs holding birds at knee joined by pendant gilt bronze swags. <B>Condition Report:</B> Normal signs of wear as appropriate with age. Linear cracking to top.
