Possibly by Pietro Piffetti (1700-1770), Turin, stamped twice MS, circa 1740 The shallow concave shaped top with cross-grained molded edge and inverted front corners centered by an inlaid yew-wood vase with boxwood mounts and scrolled handles filled with flowers in boxwood and holly with etching and shading on an ebony ground, the walnut veneered top inlaid with boxwood and satinwood strapwork, the bandings divided with ebony, the concave frieze fitted with two short drawers flanked by inverted corners and above two longer drawers in the shaped front inlaid with wide scrolling strapwork in ebony and boxwood and with elm leaf clasps, the strapwork extending to the shaped sides and repeated along the shaped apron and onto the splayed bracket feet 331/4 X 49 X 221/2 IN.
